Long day today!!! Had a great interview … See how it goes. Had lunch today with an old work mate … he looks good and talked about being 2 weeks into a lifestyle change – I hope he keeps it up.

But aside from all that the most wonderful thing happened today … I had my first confused look/squint!!!

I saw a chap I used to work with walking with his lunch back to the office for what was probably another working lunch (I do not miss those days)… I called him over and he had the split second pause where he did not place me but he knew that he knew me … It was the coolest thing – great motivator!!

After dinner tonight I set out to pole for a couple of km … Did 1.5 km and was feeling good … Great actually – built a steady easy sweat …. I kicked off my shoes and started to jog barefoot around the field with the 4 dogs for 3 km …. I felt like a little kid again!! It was a strong run today …. About 7 min per km which is very fast for me. Also find the barefoot running less impact on my legs/knees – go figure?!?

Well, here I am in monkey suit – obviously due for a new suit that fits better!!! (woe is me) Officially down 59 pounds in this picture.

Well after a light day yesterday (2 km jog and 2 km of poling) I ratcheted up again today. In the morning I jogged 2 km followed by 2 km of poling. Then I went for a 7km bike ride around 5:30 this evening. Can’t say I am sore (although my left knee is sore these days) but I definitely feel relaxed and like someone who has worked their body. Truthfully I have never felt this good in my life.

If Harvey Brooker reads this – I apologize, but according to my scale, it appears that I have finally broken my first plateau … For the last 3.5 weeks I was moving between a range of 252 pounds and 258 pounds … For the last 2 days I have weighed 248 pounds. It will not be official though until weigh in on Sunday … Trust me will blog before the lecture to confirm one way or another.

Today was a sad day . . . the youngest brother of the greatest man I know (more on that in another post) died on Tuesday night . . . he had colon cancer and was only 66 years old. Unfortunately, his cancer was not what got him but rather the so called ‘complications’ from the initial surgey. The translation = Some idiot doctor that is supposedly one of the best rated in Ontario for the kind of surgery Anotnio had decided to NOT put in a colonoscopy bag after the laser surgery . . . as a result, he developed a serious infection that snowballed into a chain of other complications . . . 4 other surgeries . . . ahhhh, I suppose the sense of outrage or vengeance against this so called doctor will pass. Its just frustrating that the doctor gets to continue life and work as if nothing happened. No review, no commentary in an HR file, no censure from the college, no warning for anyone else to follow, the doctor gets to just shrug his shoulder like its another day at the office and say it was ‘human error’ and Antonio gets to pay for it with his life. There are some things in life, whether by accident or human error, that you still pay consequences. Not that I am saying he should lose his license or anything but I think that if any of us conduct such a grievous error in our professional lives, we would be at risk of losing our jobs at a minimum . . . why should the doctor get paid for Antonio’s surgery when he showed such bad judgment in his decisions???

We should all feel ashamed that we sit idly by with our apathy in full force to allow these kinds of things to happen without censure!

I was at the funeral home on Thursday night . . . Antonio’s friends and family were out in full force . . . I am sure Antonio was looking down with watery eyes with deep gratitude at the appreciation of his life that was exhibited by the line up to get in that flowed down the stairs at one point.

For the record … He never drank or smoked … it is such a shame, he was such a good person – its not fair!

RIP Antonio – you are missed.

What a beautiful piece of single track in the middle of a red pine forest!!!

A couple of spots with a ton of sand which made it a hard ride – the extra resistance was good for building endurance, stamina, muscle, and strength!!!

Today’s ride was approx. 1.5 hours from when we left the cars …. I burned 850 calories …. A little light but this was the most technical and difficult ride to date.

Sayanora!!!

Had a job interview today … Seems like he would be a good boss. Anyhow lots of running around today and didn’t get home until 5 pm … Was motivated by looking at the new Nike lunarglide running shoes I bought and went for a jog … 3KM later I let the dogs out and pole’d two laps around the field … 500 calories or so later … I feel like a million bucks all around!!!!

Time for some zzzzzz’s … Bike ride tomorrow.

Breakfast Tues am

Just a simple weight watchers bagel with light peanut butter … 310 calories … Will grab a banana and nectarine for the road.

Really loving Spark People for tracking my food … Can’t wait for them to fix the iPhone app bug so i can enter custom foods on the go. But still an awesome app as is.

Here is what breakfast looked like … Add some sliced tomatoes and perfect!!!!

Here is my much better half (Krissy) with our 4 pups as we walk through a canopy of towering pines … The sound of the wind whipping through the trees was beautiful. What a great 45 minutes and 500 calories later.

Arrrrrggggg!!!!!

Woke up today to a weird computer virus … Computer won’t recognize file types and as such it won’t open anything or I should say it tries to use wordpad for everything … Taking it in first thing this am!!!

Need to get this fixed so I stay connected in the job hunt.

Fingers crossed …
